1. Can I search with an existing drawing?

You can directly import a drawing for the Sketch search (2D) from the file system so that you don't have to draw by yourself.

  1. Click on Sketch search (2D).

    -> The same-named dialog box opens.

  2. Click on the function button Import drawing .

    -> An Explorer window opens.

  3. Open the desired drawing, select the method Segmentation, for example and mark the part.

    Possible dimensionings don't matter!

  4. If you are satisfied with the quality (see Preview), confirm with a click on OK.

    -> The sketch is displayed on the cube. If needed, you can import further views. Mostly only one single view is sufficient.

  5. Click Commit.

    -> Now the Sketch search (2D) is activated in PARTdataManager and a little preview is shown.

  6. Make sure, that there are no other undesired search methods in activated state and then click on Start search.

    -> The search result is displayed.
