1.5.1.2.3.2.  Text Feature

With the Text feature you can place texts on a component's face.

For this, in the catalog root folder, a font has to be stored. Probably, this is not the case. Then the required folder "_fonts" is automatically created with a default font.

If an own font shall be used, the font files have to be stored in the "catalog/_fonts" folder before.

At this, the font's license conditions have to be considered! If necessary also the license text has to be copied into the "_fonts" folder.

The feature is extremely demanding on system resources and should not be used excessively.

  1. Call the respective dialog in the 3D view via context menu command Generate text on selected face.

  2. Near the desired zero point ("sphere"), select the desired text orientation (red X axis). The blue arrow then points in the positive direction of extrusion.

    -> The docking window Text is opened.

  3. Fill the dialog and finally confirm with OK.

    • You can enter free text (Text) or fetch the text from a variable (Variable).

    • Font: Should no own fonts yet be created, the font "Droid Sans" is automatically used. Otherwise you can select one of the stored fonts from the list.

    • You can state the text size via Row height (base unit, e.g. mm) or Font size [pt].

    • Text position

      The red point at the "A" shows the relation to the text.

    • Text justification: left, center, right

    • Option Extrusion or Cut

    • Extrusion length

    -> In the 3D History, the respective icon and the name entered in dialog is shown.
