5.12.12.5.4. Linking of symbol connection and function

The attributes Function identifier and Position in function of the class CNSCAX|GFX|1 have the central role in the symbol description. They determine the "logical positioning" of the 2D connection with the respective function and the according functional connection. Let's have a look on a system where both functions and symbols are completely differentiated. In particular, this means that for all groups of physical connections CNS_CP|4|3 belonging to a function a respective function instance CNSELEK|5|8|x exists.

The central information on classification containing the decisive mappings are shown in the following table. We see a system with 6 connections (accordingly 6 class instances of CNS_CP|4|3) belonging to 2 functions (2 function instances CNSELEK|5|8|x) and 6 symbol connections (6 instances of CNSCAX|GFX|1). With this construction each symbol connection can be uniquely mapped to the function.
