As of PARTsolutions V9 there is a new placement dialog in the CAD system. For certain classified standard parts intelligent placement methods are offered. Therefor the "Connection point classification" is used.

Presently the interfaces support this method for rotation-symmetrical parts such as bolts, nuts, washers and bearings for example.

The placement dialog includes a preview image of the part to place with marked connection point (possibly several).

Note If a certain placement method is not available, then the respective button is dimmed.

Simply follow the self-explanatory instructions in the dialog box.
