3.9.3. Installing License Server (Master)

After having installed PARTsolutions and want now to get licenses for the clients/terminals from a central license server:

  1. Determine a computer as license server.

    Either:

    1. a separate computer[8] (at client/server and also for single workstations)

      or

    2. the existing PARTsolutions server.

  2. Start the Setup (licenseserver_12.xxx.msi) from this computer.

    [Note]Note

    In order for the installation to be able to work finally, it has to be performed with locale administration rights!

  3. End-User License Agreement

    Accept the terms in the License Agreement and click Next.

  4. Destination Folder

    Determine the folder where the software shall be installed.

    The Change... button enables to choose another folder than the default one.

    Click Next.

  5. Product Features

    If needed activate the help.

    Start installation by clicking Install.

  6. Finally close the installer by clicking Finish.

Check:

After completed installation of the license server, please check if the required service runs properly.

In the WINDOWS start menu, please open the directory Settings/System control/Administration/Services.

-> Now you should see the service Cadenas Licenseserver. Status „Running“ and Startup type „Automatic“ should show up.

If these settings are not available, double click on the respective field and adjust the settings in the window which opens.




[8] The license server an also be one of the clients. As such it must be available in the network at all times of course.
