1.6.1.3.1.20. Classify connection points on assembly level

If an assembly is used, the connection point to be used has to be made known to it.

Up to and including V11 an assembly's part had to be classified accordingly. As of V12 the respective connection point can be made available on assembly level and be classified directly there.

Proceed as follows:

  1. Select the assembly table project and click on the context menu command Open with PARTdesigner.

    -> The assembly configuration is opened.

  2. Open the context menu on main level and click on Add shared connection point.

  3. In the Rule browser, determine the connection point.

    -> The shared connection point has been added.

  4. Save the configuration.

  5. Select the corresponding template file (*.asmtpl.prj) and open the tabbed page Classification and there the subpage 3D view.

    (In the case of assemblies no 3D content is shown.)

  6. Click on the button Choose connection point.

    -> The shared connection point is displayed in the same-named dialog box.

  7. Select the point and confirm with OK.

    -> Now the standard user interface for the creation of published elements is displayed.

  8. In the classification CNS, activate the class Placement Coordinatessytem.

    -> The class is displayed under Published elements.
