4.7.2.57.1. 2-D derivation dialog: shaded view (9.02)

With V9.02 the 2-D derivation dialog received a new mode.

It is possible to display a shaded view, instead of a real 2-D derivation.

It looks great and is much faster than an actual 2-D derivation.

For a quick preview or a PDF datasheet export, this mode is perfect since it can also be combined with automatic dimensioning.

The new mode is only available for the Combination views, not with single views.

Otherwise the entire rest of the dialog was edited.

Render mode example: Lines + shaded view

Render mode example: Lines + shaded view

Over the course of these new options, the 2D view dialog window changed. The window is now divided into the following areas:

  • Standard views

For the single views, the Derivation view Line view are automatically calculated as well.

    Advantage in this mode:

    Dimensioning is possible.

    Single view of part

    The following selections are available:

    • Front

    • Back

    • Right

    • Left

    • Top

    • Bottom

    • Isometric

  • Combination views

With V9.02. a list selection under Render mode is available for the combination views.

    • 2-D derivation :

Line display (classic, the previous mode)

    • NEW: 2-D derivation (shaded)

Combination of line view and shaded view

Advantage: Optically more pleasing than line view

Several views on one sheet, some with frame

    The following selections are available:

    • 3 views EU

    • 3 Views US

    • 6 Views EU

    • 6 Views US

    • Frame ANSI

    • Frame ANSI (BOM)

    • Frame DIN

    • Frame DIN (BOM)

    • NEW: Shaded view

Here a gridded image is displayed, not a 2-D derivation. The derivation is only then created when the export to the CAD system occurs.

      Advantages:

      • Optically more pleasing than line view

      • Very fast display, even for very complex parts

      [Note]Note

For PARTserver/PARTcommunity this render mode is used for the creation of the 3-D datasheet. This is where the speed advantage comes into play.

      Example:

"2D derivation" selection - Display after 20 min.

"2D derivation" selection - Display after 20 min.

"Shaded View" selection - Display after 10 sec.

"Shaded View" selection - Display after 10 sec.

How to create a 2-D derivation and which settings options there are, is described in detail under Section 3.1.10, “ Create 2D derivation ” in PARTsolutions - User manual.
