5.12.5.  Add projects to classification (context menu)

The function Add projects to classification described here and the function Batch classification of projects have some overlaps.

  • Add projects to classification:

    • Full overview on ALL classes and attributes

    • Attributes can reference a Variable or a Value or contain a Reference to another class.

    • Transfer of information from other classifications or parameters.

  • Batch classification of projects:

    • Display of the most important classes and attributes

    • Detection and display of not yet assigned projects

    • Display of potentially available variables with respective number of hits of projects

    • Setting and deleting of assignments

Use the adequate automatism for the respective purpose.

Projects can be classified in PARTproject under Settings -> tabbed page Classification, for different classifications.

Installed classifications are displayed on their own tabbed page:

  • By Categories: Classification according to categories

  • By Countries: Classification according to countries, where the respective company distributes their products or has subsidiaries

  • By Functionality: Classification according to functions

  • CNS: CADENAS classification used for e.g. CAD integration (placement information, published elements and attributes)

  • eClass: Standardized classification system for product groups and attributes

  • IFC: Classification using an international open standard to describe building and construction industry data

  • IFC4

  • PARTconnection: PARTconnection classification

  • Revit

  • Standardization system provided by CADENAS. Structured in three parts according to DIN number.

  • Standards BN

  • Standards GN

  • Standards Wuerth

  • UNSPSC: Product classification given by the United Nations. The standard shows an universal classification schema for different product groups for worldwide use.

  • VDI 3805: Building services

Up-to-dateness of classifications is ensured directly before the release, however, it may happen that newer classifications are available at the moment of installation. So please check and update (if needed) via PARTadmin -> Catalog update -> Online.

At the desired classifications, activate the checkbox.

In principle perform installation of standards and supplier catalogs under PARTadmin -> Catalog update -> Online.
