[Note]Note

Via Windows Start menu -> "Add or remove programs", CAD and PDM systems can be added or removed anytime.

Select the desired features for your installation and click Install.

  • PARTsolutions Enterprise

This package always also includes the packages PARTsolutions Appserver and PARTsolutions ERP.

All PARTsolutions applications, in particular PARTdataManager and PARTadmin are included, but also PARTlinkManager, PARTdataCenter (see Chapter 1, PARTdataCenter in PARTwarehouse Manual [separate license required]).

  • PARTsolutions ERP

For professional parts management with PDM/ERP/PLM integration[60] this package is basically required. Thats why it is integral part of the package PARTsolutions Enterprise. Then e.g. PARTlinkManager is installed.

For example, the explicit selection of this package could make sense, when especially PARTlinkManager shall be installed on a client.

Basics concerning link database connection and activation of the ERP integration can be found further below under ???.

Information on the configuration of the database server, creation of the database schema and users and connecting PARTsolutions via ODBC can be found under Section 4.2, “Installation Link database ”.

    [Note]Note

If you only want to get an overview on ERP functionality, then use the Sales Offline-Package. There, you have a demo database with sample entries available.

  • PARTsolutions Appserver

Explicitly required when setting up the Appserver itself. The option PARTsolutions Enterprise is not absolutely required in this case, because PARTadmin is already included in option PARTsolutions Appserver.

Furthermore the Appserver is explicitly used for a single-user installation with 3DFind.it.

Details on the Appserver installation can be found under ???.

  • Activate Interfaces: This option is enabled by default. If you disable the option, you have to activate the desired integrations in PARTadmin under Category CAD integration later manually. Also see Section 1.3.3, “ CAD integration ”.

    Category "CAD integration"

Under ...\software\install\scripts, you can find batch scripts in order to activate/deactivate all integrations anytime. These scripts can also be used administratively in the course of software Deployment.

  • MCAD Integration

Select those CAD systems where the PARTsolutions integration shall be used.

    [Note]Note

CAD systems, for which an integration is selected should already be available at this time so that the automatic registration can be successful.

    [Note]Note

For a client server installation, integrations have to be installed on the server AND on the client, otherwise the server will miss the needed configuration files.

[60] Parts management with PDM/ERP/PLM integration is the linking of catalog data with your data in ERP/PLM system. With this, role-based releases and views can be controlled and data from your database system displayed in PARTsolutions to support the user's selection. The database system has to be provided from customer side.
