1.3.12. Background information on mapping logic between PARTwarehouse and PARTsolutions

PARTwarehouse (focus on class systems) uses another systematic structure than PARTsolutions (focus on the project which represents a configurable part).

  • Classes match directories

  • Leaf classes (classes without subclasses) match projects

    Special case is a class which has both products and subclasses:

    Klasse A

- Klasse B

- Produkt 1
- Produkt 2
- Produkt 3

    Here, an artificial class is created during the export.

    Klasse A

- Klasse B

- künstliche Klasse für Projekt
    - Produkt 1
    - Produkt 2
    - Produkt 3

  • Products match table rows (characteristics of the same part or different parts)

  • Attributes (class attributes) match table variables (in LinkDB or characteristic attribute table)

When importing or exporting the systems are mapped to each other.
