In V12, in addition to the local search, a search on an external server can be executed in parallel with exactly the same parameters. This makes sense if a search provides too little or not desired results. Only catalogs which are not installed locally will be searched on the external server.

External results can be opened but all the actions like exporting to CAD, etc. are disabled. If parts found in this way shall be used, either download the respective part from the portal or install the respective catalog subsequently via PARTadmin locally.

The option has to be set administratively via config key.

If you want to execute the Online Search, proceed as follows:

After having performed a standard search, at the end of the list of search results, click on the button Search online....

-> The search is executed again.
