In the dialog box Manage index, you have a complete overview on how many projects are indexed in each type of index (Geo index (divided in Geo, Topo and Partial [only for catalogs accordingly prepared]| Full-text index | LinkDB index [after switching to top left]).
Here, you can generate the index for single folders, projects and even lines (similar to Manage fingerprints in V11).
With V12 there is a
new index which considerably enhances search possibilities and is activated
under $CADENAS_SETUP/partsol.cfg in the
following key:
[INDEX:LUCENE] JavaLucene=1
Even if there is a complete V11 index, for V12, the Full-text index has to be completely regenerated. Furthermore also the LinkDB index has to be regenerated, because it also uses the new index type. The Geo index is correctly displayed immediately, however, it should also be regenerated, because there are new algorithms which will improve the search options.
The figure shows the situation with the (missing) new index after freshly installed V12. Only for "ANSI / ASME", "commonpool" and "Assistent" catalog, the new index has already been created.
Select the catalog to be indexed.
In the context menu of catalog, call the command Manage index....
Determine which statistics shall be loaded and enable the desired checkboxes from Full-text and/or Geo.
Confirm with .
-> The dialog box Manage index is opened.
For example, select the tabbed page Statistic.
On catalog level, click on the context menu command Add project to full-text index generation.
-> The tabbed page Index generation is opened. Under Select project, the desired path is already entered, the checkmark already set at Generate full-text index. When using , you can still add more projects and directories (what does not make sense in this case as catalog level is already selected).
Adding is also possible by drag&drop.
-> Under Status of index generation the progress is displayed.
-> After finished generation the dialog is automatically updated and the Full-text index is displayed with 100%.
If you are working with ERP integration and the catalog to be indexed contains LinkDB projects, click on Add project to LinkDB index generation. and repeat the procedure analogously.
More details can be found under Section 1.3.8.6.5, “ Manage index ” in PARTsolutions - Administration Manual.
