As of PARTsolutions V9.08 there is a new search index, which significantly accelerates Geometric search (3D), Sketch search (2D) and Topology search (by more than a factor of 10).
Geometric search (3D) has been optimized and now can handle datasets larger than 1 million parts.
Also Topology search and Sketch search (2D) are much faster by the new search index and now are as fast as Geometric search (3D).
The file format of the search index has changed in the course of the enhancements:
At new installation of CADENAS catalogs you do not have to do anything. The needed index is automatically created during installation procedure.
However, it is possible anytime to manually convert the new search index from the existing old index (e.g. at own part catalogs or otherwise imported customer parts).
Hereto use the migration assistant in PARTadmin.
Simply select catalog, activate indices to be generated and start migration.
The availability of the new geometric search index is signalized by the respective icon
