2.1. User interface in PARTadmin

The settings under Configuration files may only be changed with administration rights.

If these are not available, then the lock symbol shows up on each category level.

In addition, you must be set as the administrator in PARTsolutions (compare Section 1.7.4.3.3.1, “ Key "IsAdmin" - User mode ”). You can see your current status in the status row at the bottom right.

In order to edit a configuration file open the category Configuration files and there the respective sub-category. Here, select the desired configuration file.

-> Now in the right dialog area blocks, keys and help texts of the respective file are displayed.

The figure shows the Category "Configuration files" with a selected configuration file under "$CADENAS_SETUP".

CAD specific (ifsolidworks.cfg, ifacad.cfg, etc.) and common (ifacecommon.cfg) configuration file are always processed together.^[45]

For some adjustments detailed knowledge of the syntax is needed. Information on this can be found under Section 2.2.1, “Syntax and concepts ”.

^[45]With the help of scripting CAD and PDM interfaces are very flexible. The used programming language is Visual Basic.
