7.9.5.  Docking window " Edit element"

[Note]Note

Information for existing customers:

In V12, after each design step parameters are directly displayed in the docking window Edit element. By default, the dialog box Change parameter is not opened anymore. In this way smooth work is possible and you don't have to confirm with OK.

Function

  • Once you have performed a design step in the Sketcher (e.g. adding a line), in the docking window Tool (here with current labeling Edit element), the corresponding input fields are displayed.

  • Anytime there is the possibility to manually select an element in the Sketch history or Sketcher, in order to call the dialog and to change parameters.

  • When clicking on the button Discard changes all changes are cancelled.

  • If the checkbox Automatically apply changes is enabled, each valid change is automatically saved (however, nevertheless can be undone [Delete step or Undo ]).

If the checkbox is disabled, an OK button displays and changes are only applied after clicking the button.

Default position

Default position of the docking window Tool is top right, in the same area like the Variable Manager. Another practical position is below the Sketch history (however, what possibly requires scrolling). Determine yourself a position that feels good for you.

Settings

If you would like to restore the old V11 behavior, you can do this in the PARTdesigner under Extras menu -> Settings... -> Sketcher (feat.) -> Performance by enabling the option Call dialog for parameters after generating.
