  • Mark geometry as cosmetic element

    Use this command in order to mark geometry as cosmetic elements.

    Marked elements are not visible in 3D, however are visible in the 2D derivation.

    [Note]Note

    In order to draw threads please use the functions Cylindrical thread by length and Conical thread by lengths. See Section 7.9.3.13, “ Modify -> Threads ”.

  • Apply line width

    1. Mark the element.

    2. Click on the button Apply line width.

    3. In the docking window Edit element, in the list field, select the desired line width.

  • Apply line type

    1. Mark the element.

    2. Click on the button Apply line type.

    3. In the docking window Edit element, in the list field, select the desired line type.

  • Apply user attributes

    Apply individual attributes which later will be transferred together with the marked element into the CAD system

    1. Mark the element.

    2. Click on the button Apply user attributes.

    3. Into the Key field, insert the attribute name and into the Value field the value.

  • Group elements into a spline

    [Note]Note

    This feature is only available for future versions officially and is only an internal demo version currently.

    Via Group elements into a spline, single arcs can be grouped into a spline.

    If a part has a curve with variable radius, you have to approximate their form by using several single arcs (Arc through 3 points on circle, see following figure). Now the spline feature enables to export a grouping instead of single arcs. As a result the error rate is reduced, especially when using the blend feature. Furthermore the depiction in 3D is more precise.

    First single arcs are drawn and then the spline feature is used.

    1. Draw the curve of single arcs

    2. Pick the start point of the curve

    3. Pick the single elements to be grouped into a spline one after another.

    4. Pick the end point of the curve
