2.6.6.  Replace

The following describes how single parts from the standard and supplier part library can be replaced through any alternatives.

(In the following example only a bolt's length is changed.)

  1. Select the component to be replaced (or multiple) and click on Replace.

    -> The query dialog Select replacement mode is displayed.

    If the component to be replaced is part of a pattern, the options are a little bit different.

  2. Select an option:

    • Replace selected instances (default case)

      All instances of the pattern (patterns are recognized. In such a case this option is displayed.)

    • Replace all instances

      All parts and subassemblies in an assembly are searched through, both downwards and upwards.

  3. Confirm by clicking Choose.

    -> The dialog Open component project? is opened.

  4. Select an option:

    • Open component project

    • Don't open component project

    If the dialog shouldn't be displayed in the future, activate Remember my choice.[16]

  5. Confirm by clicking Choose.

    -> The dialog Choose Application is opened.

    The query is displayed if no application had been opened yet or both are opened.

  6. Select an option:

    • 3Dfind.it Enterprise

    • PARTdataManager

  7. Confirm by clicking Choose.

    -> The desired application is opened.

  8. Select the component to replace the original.

  9. Click on the button .

    -> The view returns to the CAD system and the part (or several) is immediately replaced without any further inquiries.

[16] Once the activation is performed, a respective entry is made under $CADENAS_USER/if<cadname>.cfg.

  • Replace_QueryOpenProject: Determines whether dialog is displayed

  • Replace_OpenProject: Determines option if dialog is not displayed.

Missing entry is according to value = 1.
