Via the context menu in the project selection, you can access Manage variables via Automation.

There it is possible to easily edit variables from the project. The Name, Description, Storage location, Unit, Group, Type, Data type, Hidden and Translatable values can be changed directly via the tabular view.

If you select a variable, you will see a list of all projects that use this variable on the right-hand side of the window. There you also have the option to open the project directly in PARTdesigner.
