Open part by MIDENT
The MIDENT is a
text string, which uniquely identifies a part.
Do you want to
determine the MIDENT of a certain part?
Open the part and then click on the Open part via MIDENT [Open part by MIDENT] command in the Extras menu [Extras].
-> The
same-named dialog box opens.
Copy the
MIDENT into the clipboard and send it via e-mail for example.
You received a
MIDENT for example via e-mail and want to open the respective part?
Click on the Open part via MIDENT [Open part by MIDENT] command in the Extras menu [Extras].
-> The
same-named dialog box opens.
Paste the
text string into the dialog box.
Click on Ok.
-> The desired part is opened in the parts view [Part view].
If you are working with ERP integration, the command Request ERP number by e-mail [Request ERP number per e-mail] is available The e-mail sent also contains the MIDENT. See Section 3.1.11.10, “
