4.12.2. Create variants in PARTdataManager

In order to create a variant, proceed as follows:

  1. Select a dataset which is closest to the variable's value to be modified.

  2. Click on the button Add data record to the link database (variant) [Add dataset to link database (variant)].

    -> The Create variant dialog box opens.

    All variables of the component are listed.

    In this example L has been set from value 80 to 85.

  3. Click on Apply [Commit].

    -> The New ident number [new ident-no.] dialog opens.

  4. Confirm with OK.

    -> As a result, the created variant is also displayed in the PARTdataManager displayed.

When creating variants, possibly these are not correctly sorted (see above figure). However, you can configure a dialog to be opened in order to adjust the sorting sequence of variants for the PARTdataManager table. Thereby manual editing of the PRJTABLE is obsolete. On this please see Section 4.24.8.2.7.2, “Explicitly specify sorting order of variants for PARTdataManager table ”.
