5.12.5.1.2. Assignment of classification classes and features at directory level

5.12.5.1.2.1. Manual input

The allocation occurs in two steps:

First the assignment of the classification. And then optionally the assignment of features.

	Note
	Attributes can only be allocated if a classification was done beforehand!

In the context menu of a directory, execute the command Automation -> Add projects to classification (here in the example on "Cap screws").
-> The dialog window of the same name opens.

Classification: Select the desired classification.
In the Extract classification number from dialog area, activate the Input option.

Note
For manual input, only the Input option is relevant. For the other options, see Section 5.12.5.1.2.2, “ Automatic take-over”.

Click on the button ....
-> The Classification dialog box opens.

Select the desired class.

Confirm with OK.
-> You are now back in the Add projects to classification dialog.
Select one of the following options:
- Replace class numbers
- Add class number
If you do not want to lose any old classification numbers, it is better to select Add classification numbers [Add class number].
Click Next.
-> The view switches to the Set [Set attribute] features [Attributes], Copy features from class [Take attributes from class] and Copy features from file [Take attributes from file] dialog area with the options described in more detail below.

Setting features is optional. You can also deactivate all options and click on the Start button straight away.
1. Set attribute
  
  Note
  The Set features [Set attribute] option is only active if the Input option has previously been activated in the Extract classification number from dialog area.
  
  Clicking on the .. . button opens the Class variables dialog box.

  The checkboxes at the beginning of each column are only displayed if the window above the directory tree was opened.
  Using the checkboxes, you have the option to "work your way down" through directory levels and only activate the desired attributes.
  
  Note
  If you activate a line and it does not contain an entry under Variable, Value or Reference, a characteristic already assigned at a higher level is deleted again.
  
  After completing the entries, confirm with OK.
  When all entries in the Add projects to classification dialog box are complete, click Start.
  
  --> You now receive a list of the completed operations.

  At the end of process you will receive a respective message pointing out to update the display index.
2. Adopt characteristics from [Map variables from other class] class:
  Together with Other classification on the first dialog page, this option allows you to transfer existing information from other classes. It is only active if Other classification [Other classification] has also been activated.

3. Get class variables from file
  If the classifications or characteristics are already available externally, you can also transfer the characteristics from a CSV file.
  The CSV file must contain the following attributes: ClassId, NN (standard number), idmm (characteristic), either variable or value (fixed value).
