1.6.1.3.1.12.  PARTproject: Different display and checkin modes for files in directory tree

As of V12 in PARTproject, under Settings -> tabbed page General -> item General, the new option File Display Mode can be found, which controls the display of files in the directory tree under Project selection and the behavior concerning SVN checkin.

  • File Display Mode: Project based (Default)

    • In a directory with this setting applied all files belonging to a project are displayed on the left under Project selection. A file then belongs to a project if it is referenced by it (which may happen in different ways).

    • Other files are only displayed if they are declared under PARTserver/PARTcommunity -> Additional files.

    • Upper case characters, empty spaces and special character are not allowed. Otherwise error messages will be displayed when executing the command Upload changed files in directories / projects to the server:

Files with not allowed characters are stated in the error message.

Files with not allowed characters have to be renamed.

  • File Display Mode: File based

    • Directories with this mode applied should not contain project files! They are used, for example, if the catalog has a configurator or assistant.

    • All files contained in a directory (and its subdirectories) declared in this way are displayed under Project selection on the left. In above figure the file New Text Document.

    • Using upper case characters, empty spaces and special characters is allowed.

    • When executing the command Upload changed files in directories / projects to the server all files of the directory (and its subdirectories) are uploaded into the SVN.
