Cloud catalogs are manufacturer catalogs that can be used in 3Dfindit / PARTdataManager without first being installed locally. The catalog data is stored on the CADENAS servers (the infrastructure behind PARTcommunity and 3Dfindit) and is retrieved only when needed.
No local installation: Unlike with traditional catalogs, the catalog does not need to be downloaded and installed in its entirety. Nevertheless, a large number of manufacturer catalogs are available.
Components as needed: Only when a part is selected is it transferred and exported in the desired CAD format or imported into the CAD or PDM system.
Always up to date: The data is centrally maintained by CADENAS; there is no need to update the catalog locally.
Display: Cloud catalogs appear in the catalog tree alongside the locally installed catalogs and are labeled as cloud catalogs.
If a project in a cloud catalog is assigned an ERP number, the project is installed in the local data directory. Such locally installed projects must be updated when the catalog on the server is updated (see Catalog Update with ERP Integration via the Update Manager).
