1.4.5.5.4.5. Exception: Self-signed certificates

If it is not possible to use a CA certificate, self-signed certificates can also be used. If no valid certificate is found, the server automatically generates a self-signed certificate.

[Caution]Caution

For self-signed certificates, it is absolutely necessary to disable certificate verification by appending the parameter &nosslverify=1 to the CADENAS_APPSERVER URLs. This is definitely not recommended for production environments.

  • nosslverify=1 disables SSL verification only for the non-browser components of 3Dfindit .

  • All websites—whether embedded via WebView2 or running independently (Edge, Chrome, etc.)—continue to display warnings. In order for them to accept the self-signed certificates, the certificates must be added to the Windows Trusted Certificates on each client — which is not a viable option for production use.
