5.12.14.6.5. Transfer additional classification attributes

With the help of the CNS Piping Classification a lot of attributes are automatically transferred during export to NX. These are PART_NAME and PART_NUMBER or Pipe Connector Nominal Diameter (outer diameter) and some other.

They are available on port level (see Section 5.12.14.6.4, “Check port attributes”). Furthermore all exported parts become part of the CADENAS Routing Parts Library and behave as all other parts of the Reuse Library (see Section 5.12.14.6.3, “CADENAS Routing Parts”).

You have the possibility to make additional attributes available both in the port attributes and in the search function of the Reuse Library.

For this the desired attribute has to be stated at different places. Exemplarily, in the following the attribute CNS_PIPE_CONNECTOR_FORM_CODE (Pipe Connector VDI Form Code)is used. For any other attributes proceed in the same way.

  • The attribute has to be assigned in the Piping classification.

    Feature "CNS_PIPE_CONNECTOR_FORM_CODE"

    Feature "CNS_PIPE_CONNECTOR_FORM_CODE"

  • The classification attribute has to be mapped to an NX attribute in ifugnx.cfg (here in this example "VDI_FORM_CODE"), once under ConnPointCharacteristics(hasConnPointPipingClass) [here, the value is assigned to the single ports as characteristic] and once under CadPipingAttributes [attributes stated here become part of the table].

  • In order for the attribute to be available in the Routing Reuse Search, it has to be stated in cadenas_routing_library_mm.ptb or cadenas_routing_library_inch.ptb [then the values are taken from ifugnx.cfg -> CadPipingAttributes]. Attributes labeled with HIDE are not displayed. (Possibly remove the HIDE at already created ones.)

Results:

  • The added attribute VDI_FORM_CODE in the port characteristics.

  • The added attribute VDI_FORM_CODE in the Routing Reuse Search:
