Kick-off meeting for a new BIM platform

CADENAS, ARGE and BDH are working together on a platform for intelligent BIM data, which is now taking concrete shape

The project partners from ARGE, BDH, CADENAS and various companies from the BSE industry at the first meeting.

On 20 October 2023, representatives of CADENAS, ARGE Neue Medien, the Bundesverband der Deutschen Heizungsindustrie (BDH) and RubiCon as well as experts from the industry met in Weinheim, Baden-Württemberg. On the agenda of the 22 participants was the project launch for a joint BIM platform specifically for heating, ventilation, air conditioning and sanitary products.

BIM in BSE

For both ARGE manufacturers and BDH members, it is of great importance to be able to provide BIM-capable data from their products. To make it easier for them to digitise all the information relevant to building services, the project partners are pooling their expertise in the form of a new BIM platform.

Successful start

At the kick-off meeting in Weinheim, the members of the BIM Platform initiative came together to exchange ideas and plan the next steps. Karsten Spieß, Head of Data Management MEP/BIM, and Wolfgang Nagl, Vice President eCatalogs & Digital Twins, represented CADENAS and were very satisfied afterwards:

"Although the project partners are partly in competition with each other, they all agree that intelligent product data is inevitable for building services engineering (BSE). That is why we are in an excellent position to jointly launch the platform and drive it forward," said a pleased Wolfgang Nagl.

Karsten Spieß also drew a positive conclusion after the meeting. "BIM is becoming more and more relevant and the joint platform, as a central contact point, brings real added value for manufacturers in the field of building services engineering. There was a spirit of optimism at the joint meeting in Weinheim and it was an enriching experience for all those present - whether from the industry or from associations."
