7.8.11.1.  Unknown variable (error message)

The following example illustrates the meaning of the storage location [Save location] setting option.

Problem

An error message Unknown variable:

If you have created a variable with the storage location [Save location] "Only in table [Only in table] " (storage in the tab/tac file) and want to use it in Sketcher, the error message Unknown variable appears.

Solution

Save the relevant variable with the storage location [Save location] "In geometry and table [In geometry and table] " (storage in tab/tac file AND 3db file).

  1. Select the desired variable.

  2. Switch to In geometry and table.

  3. Click on Apply [Commit].

-> Now the variable can be used in the sketch.
