4.2.6.  JDBC driver

[Note]Note

The CADENAS software required to use JDBC connections to the link database is license-bound and subject to a charge.

You need an extra license (CNS2009*DATABASE*JDBC)!

[Note]Note

Advantage of using JDBC drivers:

Driver installation and configuration is performed on the server! A driver installation on each client as with ODBC, is not necessary!

When using the PARTapplicationServer, the advantage is relativized, as the driver is only set up on the server.

[Note]Note

JDBC driver

Standard JDBC drivers can be found at libs/all/java/jar.

Others must be downloaded from the respective manufacturer (Oracle, Microsoft) and copied to the directory libs/all/java/jar. They are NOT installed by CADENAS.

Please download them under one of the following addresses.

Details can be found under Section 4.7.2, “ Database connection ”.

Configuration file jdbc.cfg

The configuration file jdbc.cfg stores the database connection data, i.e. server, database and, in particular, the driver class and the URL for the JDBC driver to establish the database connection.
