[Tip]Tip
  • Basic difference between full text search (Tabbed page Contents [Content] ) and index search (Tabbed page Index ):

The full text search is a "fuzzy" search (similarity search). You will also receive hits if the search term was not exact. This may be desirable, but it can also be annoying.

If you want to carry out an exact search, put the search term in quotation marks.

Sometimes it's better to restrict the search term, in order not to exclude results unintentionally.

For example, just use the core term or omit unimportant filler words:

Leave out "part" in the example.

Leave out "part" in the example.

  • For example, search with terms used in tooltips.

  • The index search always searches for the exact term entered. Start the search with the return key after entering just a few letters. You will receive hits if the entered term appears anywhere in the indexed term.
