5.8.2.2.8.  Move project

Project files can be moved to any location within the directory tree.

Moving can be performed with different methods:

  • Via context menu command (alternatively via shortcut "Strg+X" and "Strg+V")

  • Via Drag & Drop

If you want to move several projects all at once, select them with pressed Ctrl key before.

  1. Select the desired project(s) and click on Move project.

  2. Select the desired directory in which you want to insert the project(s) and click on Insert project.

-> The Move project dialog box opens.

  3. If the projects are not part of an assembly, deactivate the option Adjust references in assemblies [Adapt links in assemblies] (if set) and confirm with OK.

    [Note]Note

Project files may be part of an assembly. In this case, the assembly must also "be informed" of the new file location (path). Otherwise, the assembly will be unable to "find" the individual parts in question and, consequently, will be unable to assemble the assembly.

Therefore, activate the Customize links in assemblies [Adapt links in assemblies] radio button and enter the path of the assemblies [Assemblies path] (Browse ... ) in which the assembly is located.

    Confirm with OK.

Procedure when using drag & drop
  1. Select the desired projects with pressed Ctrl key.

  2. Press and hold the shift key during the drag & drop action.

  3. Now drag the whole selection into the desired directory. Moving can be recognized at the missing symbol besides the mouse cursor.
