2.1. User interface in PARTadmin

The settings under configuration files [Configuration files] can only be changed with administration rights.

If these are not available, the lock symbol will appear next to the corresponding categories.

In addition, you must be set as the administrator in PARTsolutions (compare Section 1.6.4.3.3.1, “ Key "IsAdmin" - User mode ”). You can see your current status in the status row at the bottom right.

To edit a configuration file, open the Configuration files category and then the corresponding subcategory. Select the desired configuration file there.

-> Now in the right dialog area blocks, keys and help texts of the respective file are displayed.

When evaluating the settings, the CAD-specific (ifsolidworks.cfg, ifacad.cfg, etc.) and the general configuration file (ifacecommon.cfg) are used.[46]

[46] The CAD and PDM interfaces of PARTsolutions have a very high degree of flexibility thanks to the scripting option. The programming language used here is Visual Basic. Thanks to CADENAS's own script interpreter, the scripts work under both Windows and Unix.
