2.6.7.  Replace

The following describes how single parts from the standard and supplier part library can be replaced through any alternatives.

(In the following example only a bolt's length is changed.)

  1. Select the object to be replaced (or several objects) and click on Replace.

    -> The Select replacement mode query dialog appears.

    If the component to be replaced is part of a pattern, the selection options are slightly different.

  2. Select an option:

    • Replace selected instances (standard case)

      All instances of the pattern (patterns are recognized. In such a case, this option appears)

    • Replace all instances

      All components and assemblies in an assembly are searched, both upwards and downwards.

  3. Confirm with Select [Choose].

    -> The Open component project? dialog opens.

  4. Select an option:

    • Open component project

    • Don't open component project

    If you do not want the dialog to be displayed in future, activate Remember my selection [Remember my choice].[17]

  5. Confirm with Select [Choose].

    -> The Select application [Choose Application] dialog opens.

    The prompt only appears if no application has been opened or both are open.

  6. Select an option:

    • 3Dfind.it Enterprise

    • PARTdataManager

  7. Confirm with Select [Choose].

    -> The desired application is opened.

  8. Select the component to replace the original.

  9. Click on the corresponding button.

    -> The view returns to the CAD system and the part (or several) is immediately replaced without any further inquiries.

  • Replace_QueryOpenProject: Determines whether the dialog is displayed.

  • Replace_OpenProject: Determines what is done if the dialog is not displayed.
