5.3.5.  Preferred series / Display condition for part selection

  • The condition under Preferred row [Preferred ranges] controls the display of table rows when the preferred row function is activated .

  • The condition under Display condition for part selection [Display condition for parts selection] controls the display of the catalog index when the preferred series function is activated .

This can be accompanied by a green/semi-transparent coloring (compare user"mechanical" -> role "MECH1-4"). However, the coloring can also be independent of this (as here under "location").

In any case projects and directories not matching the condition are hidden.

In the case of user "location", role "DUMMY" [Administrator] these are projects which do not contain at least one row with ERP number and directories which do not contain at least one such project.

Setting under PARTadmin -> Category Roles -> Tab page General -> Role "DUMMY" -> Display condition for part selection [Display condition for parts selection] (and preferred series [Preferred ranges] ). Both are based on the existence of an ERP number.

Setting under PARTadmin -> Category Roles -> Tab page General -> Role "DUMMY" -> Display condition for part selection [Display condition for parts selection] (and preferred series [Preferred ranges] ). Both are based on the existence of an ERP number.

The LOC2 role contains the following conditions:

  • Display condition for part selection [Display condition for parts selection]:

    (LINKTABLE.ERP_PDM_NUMBER<>'') AND (ERPTABLE.LOC2='x')

    [Note]Note

Not set corresponds to following condition:

    (LINKTABLE.ERP_PDM_NUMBER<>'')

    Meaning:

    • In order for a project in the index tree to be displayed when the preferred range function is turned on, it has to have an ERP number AND in the column LOC2 the marking 'x' has to be set.

    • In order for a directory to be displayed in the index tree when the preferred range function is turned on, it has to have at least one part fulfilling the condition.

    • If the condition is not fulfilled, the project/directory is hidden when the preferred range function it turned on.

  • Preferred series [Preferred ranges]: As a rule, it makes sense to set the condition for preferred series [Preferred ranges] (table) and display condition for part selection [Display condition for parts selection] (catalog index) in the same direction.

    ((ERP_PDM_NUMBER.NE.'').AND.(LOC2.EQ.'x'))

In standard case projects/directories fulfilling the condition are displayed in green, those which do not, semi-transparent. This can be seen at user "mechanical", role "MECH1-4", for example.

The case is different for user "location", role "LOC2". There is an entry on the Display tab page under Status colors for catalog index. This means that the colors follow the condition entered here, thus overriding the green/semi-transparent coloring.

When the Preferred series on/off [Preferred rows on/off] button is activated, red projects (not applicable) and orange projects (standard part without ERP number) are hidden. Projects with an ERP number (yellow) and projects that occur at one location (light green), projects that occur at two locations (medium green) and projects that occur at all locations (dark green) are displayed. The color is inherited directly upwards to directories.
