8.3.1. Example 1: Searching for an M8x50 cheese head screw

We are looking for a cylinder head screw with a nominal diameter of 8, length 50, with a low head.

  1. Enter the search term(s).

    [Note]Note
    • You can enter all terms at once

      or also individually in stages.

    • Catalog manufacturers do not always use the same designations for similar components. Therefore, make sure that you do not exclude anything with the selected terms.

It may be better to search for "Schraube" rather than "Zylinderschraube". Especially in English, searching for "Screw" may be more effective.

In the example shown here, the difference in the search results is small.

You can also search using terms in another language: So in German GUI with ""screw 8 50 low head" or in English GUI with "Schraube 8 50 niedriger kopf".

    • Fewer search terms often lead to better results.

    • Searching with "8 50" may not be quite as precise as searching with "M8x50" or "8x50" or "m8 50", but you are on the safe side not to exclude any manufacturer catalog.

    • If you are sure what the variable name is, you can also search with "D=8" and L=50".

    • If you want to exclude something, you can do this with "NOT".
