7.7.1.2.2. Example 1 - Set attribute on multiple faces

In order to set face attributes do the following (exemplified by the use of a color attribute):

  1. In the 3D view, select three faces which shall get the attribute with pressed Ctrl key and then click on the command Face attributes....

    -> The docking window Face attributes is opened.

  2. Click on the icon .

    -> The dialog box Face attributes is opened.

  3. Select the desired attribute and confirm with Ok. In this example: SYS_FaceAttributeColor (Class for colored faces)

    Because at the beginning a multiple selection had been made, now a tree structure with parent element and child elements is displayed. That means every child can be individually changed or all together by selecting the parent element.

  4. Select the parent element.

    -> Now respective setting options are displayed (here the field Color of face).

  5. Choose the desired color. Color values are automatically calculated and entered. Confirm with Ok.

  6. Now you can either confirm your settings with Ok or Apply. In the first case the attribute is applied and the dialog closed, in the second case the attribute is applied and the dialog remains open for further changes.

    In this example, Apply is used.

    -> All faces selected before now will show the chosen color.

  7. Select a child element and apply another color.

  8. Select the parent element and click on the delete icon . (In a tree structure, deleting is only possible on the parent element.)

    -> All attributes are deleted.

  9. Confirm with Ok or Apply.
