1.13.1.3.2.5.1. Create sweep via planes

  1. Select 2 or more sketches that you would like to combine into a sweep and click on the context menu command Create basic history [Create sweep base].

    Absolutely, select the sketches in the correct sequence.

  2. Enter the desired name and confirm with OK.

1.13.1.3.2.5.2. Create sweeps with a guiding sketch

Sweeps can be created by using a combination of a sketch and a guiding sketch. (Feature only for demo purposes, not released.)

For this, there are different approaches which will be explained in the following.

1.13.1.3.2.5.2.1. Variant 1: Initially created by guiding sketch only

[Note]Note

When using this variant it is ensured that the correct planes are used and the pattern origins will fit together.

  1. On the 3D history [3D History] tab page, click on the context menu command New history sketch.... [New guiding curve...]

    -> The Sketcher opens.

    The set of tools is slightly reduced. For example, circle and rectangle are hidden, as the guiding curve needs to be an open contour.

  2. Create the gradient sketch and be sure to set the pattern origin [Pattern origin] at the start of the gradient curve.

    The single elements need to have tangential transitions, otherwise a warning will appear.

    Close the sketch.

    -> The sketch is now displayed as a guiding sketch in the 3D history [3D History].

  3. In the context menu of Guiding sketch, click on the Create basic history [Create sweep base] command.

    The Basic history [Sweep base] tab page opens.

  4. Click on the Create button under Start sketch.

    -> The sketcher is opened.

    -> A green tick appears.

  5. Create the start sketch [Start sketch].

    [Note]Note

    The start sketch created with this variant is not stored in the 3D history [3D History].

  6. Click on Apply changes [Accept changes].

    -> On the Basic history [Sweep base] tab page, a green tick is now visible under Start sketch.

  7. Confirm with OK.

    The sweep is now created from the start sketch [Start sketch] and progression [History].

1.13.1.3.2.5.2.2. Variant 2: Separately created guiding sketch and cross-sectional sketch

Precondition: Guiding sketch and cross-sectional sketch are already available.

  1. Select both the guiding sketch and the cross-sectional sketch.

    [Note]Note

    The pattern origins of the cross-section sketch and the gradient sketch must lie in the same plane, but not necessarily on top of each other.

  2. Click on the context menu command Create basic history [Create sweep base].

    -> The Basic history [Sweep base] tab page opens.

    If other sketches with a gradient are available, you can select them in the list field.

  3. Confirm with OK.

    -> The sweep is created.

Alternatively, only the cross-section sketch can be selected initially and then the corresponding gradient sketch (if several are available) in the list box on the Basic gradient [Sweep base] tab page.
