Starting with V12.14, there is a PVBS extension for Visual Studio Code (replacing pvbscompiler.exe).[5]
Open, edit, and save vbs, vbb, and vpk files; vpk packages are mounted as virtual workspace folders containing their vbb members. The extension is automatically detected and launched when such a file is opened.
Syntax highlighting for VBS and VBB, syntax checking upon saving (saving is always allowed, even if there are errors); findings are displayed in the "Problems" tab.
Full-featured debugger: F5/F10/F11, breakpoints (including in vpk members), threads, scopes, view and set variables, variable tooltips and Watch tab, exception filters for caught/uncaught unhandled exceptions, Pause (F6), Break All, Autoattach to all running clients including a status bar button, “Set Next Statement ”.
Properties widget for vbb files with compiler feature version and encryption version
Two output channels (normal and debug), settings page including the path to the C++ adapter, license verification with a license manager dialog if the verification fails.
Details on installation/configuration and the debugger can be found in the internal manual in the chapter "PVBS Extension for Visual Studio Code."
