5.12.13.2.2. Classify connection points

Certain minimum requirements must be met before parts can be used for piping at all:

  • Connection points have to be set.

  • The CNSPIPECONNECTOR_ROUND class must be set.

  • The 3D Identification and Pipe Connector Nominal Diameter feature must be set for each connection point.

  1. Make sure that all needed connection points are set.

  2. Choose the connection point to be classified.

For this there are two options:

    • In the preview [Preview], click on the context menu command Select connection point [Choose connection point].

-> The same-named dialog box is opened showing a list of available connection points.

Select the desired one and confirm with OK.

    • Or select the desired connection point in the preview (the point is now highlighted in red) and click on the context menu command Connection point.

-> In both cases, the dialog area for published elements [Published elements] is opened below.

  3. Activate the Round Pipe Connector class under Class name.

    [Note]Note

Currently (Jan. 2021) only this class is supported.

-> The 3D identification feature is filled automatically.

  4. Set the corresponding variable for the characteristic Pipe Connector Nominal Diameter (outside diameter) (DN in this example)

  5. Save the project and update the display index.

Of course, all other characteristics should also be filled as far as possible. However, you have a better overview in the Class variables dialog box.

The two characteristics that have already been filled in are displayed again in the "Class variables [Class variables] " dialog box.
