1.1. 3Dfindit variants

3Dfindit is available in three different versions: the website 3Dfindit.com, the plugin and Enterprise 3Dfindit.

All three options basically offer the same content, but there are the following differences:

  • 3Dfindit.com

The website is internet-based and requires a network connection to use. The geometric features of components or assemblies are missing, but the website offers an AR view and the rendering of components. You can also use the Recommendations button to display similar elements. AI can convert images into 3D models. The website can be used with a free user account and offers each registered user a limited number of downloads per 24 hours. In addition, the downloaded components can be an approximation of the original. The local settings of the CAD program used are missing. The standard catalogs are missing.

  • Plugin 3Dfindit

The plugin can be downloaded free of charge from 3Dfindit.com and integrated into the existing CAD program with a simple installation. The plugin is also Internet-based and therefore requires a network connection. The license required to use the plugin can expire and can therefore be reapplied for at certain intervals.

The interface enables part generation in CAD. The standard catalogs are also missing here.

  • Enterprise 3Dfindit

The Enterprise variant is a local installation that does not require an Internet connection. The catalogs are installed via PARTadmin and the configuration options are also carried out in PARTadmin. Enterprise 3Dfindit is subject to a charge and requires a license file.

The Enterprise 3Dfindit variant enables real parts management, as it allows connection to PDM & PLM and ERP. The geometric search can also be used.
