13.3.1.2.  License selection " tab page

On the License selection tab page in floating installations, you can specify which PARTsolutions license packages you want to use in the current application. Normally this is set correctly during installation or by your product administrator, but it may be necessary to change this dynamically if you need to use the product in different functionalities.[127]

Example: PARTsolutions license information for the PARTdataManager module

You have the following options:

  1. Overwrite license preselection:

If you want to change and overwrite the administrative preselection, activate the Overwrite license preselection option.

You can open a list field for each license product by double-clicking on the displayed status [Status]. Click on the arrow button to display the entire list. Select the desired status [Status].

    For basic products [Base products]:

    • Allow selection (default setting)

    • Deny selection

    For add-ons [Addons]:

    • Assign if required [Pull on demand] (default setting)

    • Pull on start

    • Never use

  2. Suppress the interactive product selection dialog...

    You have the following options:

    • Activation and selection of the desired license product from the list field:

-> When the module launches no selection box will display and the chosen license product is automatically used.

    • Deactivation:

-> When the module is started, the selection dialog appears according to the administrative settings or according to the settings here in the dialog window under Overwrite license preselection.

Example: Selection dialog at module start

      [Note]Note

If you activate the options in the next section Settings, fewer licenses may appear because filtering has already been carried out.

If only one license is possible, then no dialog box appears.

  3. Settings:

    • Take the currently running modules into account for the automatic preselection

Example: Assuming it is already running PARTproject then a license is used that can "supply" this application with a corresponding license.

    • Take licenses taken by other modules into account for the automatic preselection.

Example: PARTproject already uses a certain license. Then for PARTdataManager the same license is used, although theoretically another license would have been possible alternatively.

    • Enable to pull other base products during program runtime when they are needed

[127] The selection is saved under $CADENAS_USER/select_license.cfg.
