5.9.2.8.4.1.  Render materials for surface attributes

The render materials [Render materials] created are also available in the PARTdesigner in the Areas Attributes [Face attributes] dialog box.

The following figure shows the part in 3Dfindit / PARTdataManager with texture over the entire part (PARTprojectEdit project → Tabbed page GeneralRender properties [Render attributes]Render material ) and another texture on an additionally edited surface (PARTdesignerSurface attributes... [Face attributes...] (context menu of a surface) → RenderMaterial )

Render Materials for Blends and Sweeps

Example:

Initial situation: The Blend feature has been applied to an edge between two faces. A material has been assigned to the faces. The material cannot automatically be applied to the rounded face (blend).

  1. If you try to assign a material to the rounding area, the message Area was created by another chamfer/rounding [Face is a result of another chamfer/fillet] appears.

  2. Instead, call up the context menu via Blend in the 3D History docking window and click on Feature attributes.... [Feature attributes...]

  3. Assign the desired material in the Areas attributes [Face attributes] dialog box.

The same applies to Sweep.

Render Materials for pattern

  1. If you select an element other than the pattern origin [Pattern origin] for patterns, the note Area was created by a pattern feature [Face is a result of pattern feature] appears.

  2. The command Area attributes. [Face attributes...].. is available on the element of the design origin [Pattern origin]. command is available.

  3. Select the desired render material in the Areas Attributes [Face attributes] dialog box.

    → The render material is applied to all pattern elements.
