5.9.2.5.3.  Filter variable

The Filter variable setting can be used to filter individual lines from the table of a project during catalog splitting. The detailed description of catalog splitting can only be found in the "Internal" manual.

Filter variable for catalog splitting
[Note]Note

The Filter variable setting corresponds to the Delete filtered rows [Delete filtered lines] option on the Catalog division [Catalog separation] Tabbed page.

If the option is set, filtered rows from the table that are not to be displayed in the split catalog are deleted directly. Otherwise the rows are only hidden and can be shown again in the table view in PARTproject via the Show hidden rows option.

To create a filter using filter variables [Filter variable], proceed as follows:

  1. In the PARTproject in the data directory of the catalog to be shared, the project where the filter should be applied.

  2. Specify the name of the variable in the Filter variable setting.

  3. Open the project table in PARTdesigner.

  4. Add a variable with the name defined in step 2 via the Variable Manager. Make sure to set the data type [Data type] to "Text".

  5. In the corresponding line of the table, enter the catalog in which the line should be visible.

You can enter several catalogs separated by commas.

  6. Save the changes and close PARTdesigner.

  7. In PARTproject, enter the name selected in step 2 for each catalog folder to which the created filter is to be applied when splitting the catalog.

  8. Carry out the catalog split.

→ The project table is reduced in the extracted folders.
