Some CAD systems allow you to select features directly in the open component. If this option is available, you will find the Perform partial search [Execute Partial Search] command in the PARTsolutions menu. Otherwise, the functionality is available via Seamless or PARTdataManager (see below).
Click on the Perform partial search command.
Finally, confirm with the Esc button.
-> The Partial Search is performed in the Seamless dialog box.
To change the search settings, click on the Partial search link in the Seamless window.
In this example, activate the Negative part option and confirm with Apply [Commit].
Then click on in the Seamless dialog.
-> Suitable negative parts are now found.
Alternatively (even if the Perform Partial Search [Execute Partial Search] command is not available), you can also open a part via Seamless. You will find the From CAD command in the dialog box.
