2.7.3.8. Edit Cluster Tree

Purpose

In the results view, you can adjust the hierarchy of a saved clustering without changing the validation status of individual parts. Editing the tree is divided into individual steps so that structural changes, their confirmation dialogs, and their consequences remain clear.

Requirements

  • The logged-in account requires "clustering-view" and "clustering-edit."

  • A completed, saved clustering with a loaded hierarchy is available.

  • Administrators must distinguish between a structural change to the tree, moving individual parts, and merging two populated leaf clusters.

Sub-processes

The following sections describe each structural operation individually.

Sub-processes when editing the cluster tree

Partial Process

Scope

Create a tree node and rename it

At an appropriate location, add an empty child node or change the name of a node (other than the root).

Move tree nodes and reassign them

Move a node along with its entire subtree using the action menu or by dragging and dropping it.

Delete Nodes and Remove Layers

Permanently delete a suitable empty node or remove an inner hierarchy level while preserving its child nodes.

Result

The administrator can maintain a logical hierarchy; after each completed or rejected structural change, the results view reloads the current status from the server. Changes to part assignments are described in the procedures for saving and moving parts, while merging sheet clusters is described in the procedure for merging.
