With V12.8 you have the option of controlling the export of sub-assemblies.

This allows parts lists of the substructure parts to be evaluated in CAD, which affects all parts that are marked with transfer to parts list [Transfer to Bill of Material].

  1. Call up the PS3-V2 3D format under Export menu [Export] > Export to file [Export in file] > 3D transfer formats [4]to.

  2. Activate the Show advanced settings [Show advanced settings] option in the export dialog.

  3. On the Filter tab page, activate the Export sub-assembly structure [Exporting Sub-Assembly Structure] option.

  4. Load the PS3 file in the CAD system via PARTsolutions Menu -> Load [Load PS3-File] PS3 file.

The following two figures show an example of the result in NX, once without and once with a sub-assembly structure.

[4] This is currently tested, others will follow. In partsol.cfg > Block [Common], the ExportSubAssemblyStructure key has been removed.
