Using the context menu command Analysis -> Create analysis. [Create analysis...].. you can execute the following functions:
- Comparison: Own part <-> purchased part - For which components is know-how available, which components can be procured externally? - The Make-or-Buy [Make or Buy] function allows you to create a report on the basis of a selected directory (e.g. with any number of own parts, possibly the individual parts of a complex assembly)[109]) to search any other directories (manufacturer catalogs ) for identical or similar parts. - The Make or Buy report function supports you at making the best decision regarding whether to produce parts or better buy them. - More information is found under Section 3.1.13.1.1, “" Make-or-buy analysis ”.
- Comparison: Supplier part <-> Supplier part - In the course of manufacturer consolidation or standardization the comparison of purchased parts is interesting. - The similarity comparison is primarily performed on a geometric base. An interesting feature is the additional textual search for reference statements to standard parts. - More information is found under Section 3.1.13.1.2, “ "Suppliers " analysis ”.
- Comparison: Supplier part <-> Supplier part - Should the manufacturer comparison explicitly include the cost side is to be highlighted, select the Cost Mockup Report. - The Cost Mockup [Cost mockup] Report also provides the prices of search and comparison parts (and, if required, information from any other table columns) so that you can carry out a rough cost calculation on this basis. - More information is found under Section 3.1.13.1.3, “ "Cost Mockup " analysis ”.
The setting options for the make-or-buy [Make or Buy], supplier [Suppliers] and cost mockup [Cost mockup] analyses are very similar, so they are treated together. See Section 3.1.13.1.4, “Settings dialog for "Make-or-Buy ","Cost Mockup " and "Suppliers " ”.
- You can use the duplicate analysis [Duplicate Analysis] to search a selected directory with subdirectories for duplicates. - More information can be found under Section 3.1.13.2, “ Duplicate Analysis ”.
[109] The report can be based on SAT/STEP/IGES/STL files. Details on importing using PLMsynchro can be found under PLMsynchro - Creating own parts catalogs.
