7.16.2.2.  Optional parameters

  • Text

    Default value: {AUTOMATIC}

  • Variable mapping

    No entry per default

  • Font height

    Default value: 3.5

  • Condition

    No entry per default

  • Arrow size

    No entry per default

  • Arrow factor

    No entry per default

  • Arrow position

    • Standard [Default]: In 3D, arrows and text are inside the dimension lines.

    • Hold page [Keep position]: Arrows keep their position in any case, both in 3D and 2D.

    • Change page [Flip side]: The arrows switch to the other side, the text remains centered, both in 3D and in 2D.

  • Accuracy

    Default value: 1

  • Force dec [Force accuracy] imal places:

Enable this option for a consistent depiction of decimal places in the 3D view. Then zeros at the last decimal places are shown.

  • Base dimension

If you enter an ID of a dimensioning element under Base dimension, the value specified under Position -> Distance dimension does not refer to the bounding box or the element, but to the specified dimensioning element.

Elements of the first "distance level" of a chain of dimensions have no entry under base dimension [Base dimension], but refer to BBOX or ELEMENT.

    1. Under Position, select either BBOX or ELEMENT.

    2. Then enter the desired distance dimension under Distance dimension (BBOX) [Offset (BBOX)] or Distance dimension (ELEMENT) [Offset (ELEMENT)].

    3. Under Base dimension, enter the ID of the dimension to which the distance dimension should refer.

It is possible to set the same base dimension for several dimensionings.

    [Note]Note
    • To be able to work with the base dimension [Base dimension] option, you must enter the ID for the dimensions used for this purpose. This is entered in the field as the base dimension [Base dimension] for a subsequent dimensioning. The first dimension in the chain has no entry here.

    • The ID field of a dimension stands for identifier. The information here must therefore be absolutely unique!

    • The base dimension [Base dimension] must appear before the currently edited dimension in the ID list of dimensions.

    • Please make sure that all dimensionings can be created.

The following example explains the relationships:

For DIM1 and DIM2 there is no base dimension. They have the same distance to the bounding box, because under position, the same settings are made.

DIM3 and DIM4 both have "DIM1" set as the base dimension, so the distance dimension for these two does not refer to the bounding box, but the value set under Position -> Distance dimension is added to the distance dimension of "DIM1". "DIM2" could just as easily have been set as the base dimension with the same effect.

DIM5 has DIM3 as base dimension. So the set offset also here, does not refer to the bounding box, but is added to the offset of DIM3.

Here in this example you can see that the offset "DIM3" refers to the base dimension "DIM1".

Here in this example you can see that the offset "DIM3" refers to the base dimension "DIM1".

  • Text shift (on the dimension arrow)

    [Note]Note

This option is only available for the HORIZONTAL dimensioning type.

The value determines the horizontal text shift from center.

  • Alignment

    [Note]Note

This option is only available for the HORIZONTAL, VERTICAL and PARALLEL dimensioning types.

Align dimensioning arrows / position dimensioning text

    Example

    Example

In the list field, select one of the following values:

    • left

Arrowheads point to the dimension lines from the outside

The dimensioning text is located on the left dimensioning arrow.

    • center

The arrowheads point to the dimension lines from the inside.

The text is centered on the arrow.

    • right

The arrowheads point to the dimension lines from the outside.

The dimensioning text is located on the right dimensioning arrow.

    Alignment (automatic) [Align (automatic)]

    • Checkbox is deactivated: The specification under Alignment is always taken into account

    • Checkbox activated:: The specification under Alignment is only taken into account if the dimension does not fit between the arrows.
