1.10.1.3.2.1.  Area attributes: Live selection

Areas can also be selected to change their attributes while the area attributes [Face attributes] docking window is active. Both single and multiple selections are possible.

If several areas are selected, this is displayed in the area attributes [Face attributes] docking window in a tree structure with a parent element and the selected areas as child elements. Each child can be changed individually or all together by changing the parent element.

Attribute changes are only saved by clicking on Apply or OK.

Example - Set attribute on multiple faces
  1. In the 3D view, hold down the Ctrl key and select three surfaces that are to receive the attribute and then click on the command Surface attributes.... [Face attributes...]

    -> The Area attributes [Face attributes] docking window opens.

  2. Click on the icon .

    -> The Area attributes [Face attributes] dialog box opens.

  3. Select the desired attribute and confirm with Ok. Here is an example: SYS_FaceAttributeColor (Class for colored faces)

  4. Select the parent element.

    -> The respective setting options are now displayed (here the area color [Color of face] field).

  5. Select the desired color. The color values are calculated and entered automatically. Confirm with Ok.

  6. Click on Apply.

    -> All faces selected before now will show the chosen color.

  7. Select a child element and apply another color.
