1.6.1.2.1.3. Automated translation with DeepL

With DeepL you can create your translations automatically. The service is subject to a charge. You need an authentication key [Authentication-key].

  1. In the index tree, select the desired level (catalog | directory | project).

  2. Click on the Translate with DeepL button. (If the button is grayed out, the selected area is read-only)

-> The respective dialog is opened.

Dialog "Translate with DeepL [Translate with DeepL] "

Dialog "Translate with DeepL [Translate with DeepL] "

  3. Perform the desired settings:

    • Enter key [Key]

    • Select source language [Source language] in the list field

-> The corresponding table column is selected.

      • Replace empty fields with internal identifiers

If the chosen source language is empty, the term is fetched from the internal identifier.

      • Automatic language recognition by DeepL (per field)

When disabling the option the translation is defined by the selected column.

    • Target languages: Select one or more languages using the checkbox.

    • Restrict translations: Determine which types are to be translated (e.g. standard title, standard designation, etc.).

    • Translation status:

      • All translations

      • Only already translated texts

      • Only missing translations (default)

  4. Finally, click on Translate [Translation].

-> Translated terms are marked in orange.

-> $xyz variables are not to be translated.

-> Exactly same terms are only translated once by DeepL and then distributed to related cells.

  5. Check the single translations. You can manually correct anytime.

If translations are missing, select a different source language [Source language] or the option Replace empty fields with internal identifiers.

Possibly use the internal identifier for the missing translations.

Possibly use the internal identifier for the missing translations.

Finally, confirm with OK. Only then will the translated terms be saved.
