3.3.3.7.3. Create document from empty line (without ERP number) - Manual assignment of SAP material in PSOL

A document is created from an empty line (in CAD and in SAP ECTR, which is the standard case). The LinkDB entry is only created when a material number is assigned to the part. The link between the SAP material and the LinkDB data record is created using the button Linking existing material master (new) button.

Prerequisites

Workflow

  1. Export an empty line (without ERP_PDM_NUMBER).

-> The filename displayed in CAD includes the document ID (SAP_DOCID).

  2. Switch to SAP ECTR.

-> The document has been created with the document ID in SAP ECTR (standard).

-> The document has been created without material.

  3. Assign a material to the part created in SAP ECTR.

    -> The material is created.

  4. Switch back to PARTdataManager.

  5. Assign the SAP material number to the exported line via the Linking existing material master (new) button to the SAP material number.

-> The Create link? dialog box opens.

  6. Confirm with OK.

-> A confirmation prompt is opened.

  7. Confirm with Yes.

-> A LinkDB dataset is created.

-> Already existing documents (PLMTABLE2) are linked to the material in SAP.

-> The ERP_PDM_NUMBER column receives an entry per timestamp.

-> The column SAP_MATERIAL_NO gets the SAP material number.

    [Note]Note

Return mapping for the DOCID does not work in this case because an ERP_PDM_NUMBER would already have to exist beforehand, but this is only created in the course of Linking existing material master (new).

  8. Open the material from the selected line using Display material master in SAP ECTR [Display material data in SAP ECTR] to open the material in SAP ECTR for viewing in the Object Browser.
